"There is no stability without solidarity and no solidarity without stability".

Our Story
RRCBA was founded to ensure that communities most impacted by development and disinvestment have a direct voice in shaping Wichita’s future.

What began as a conversation about Opportunity Zones, economic empowerment, and “buying back the block” grew into a community-led movement built around Community Benefits Agreements, shared standards, and measurable outcomes.

Named in honor of Richard Robinson, the only ADOS (American Descendent Of Slavery) signatory on Wichita’s founding documents, the Richard Robinson District vision represents legacy, accountability, and the belief that development should happen with the community — not around it.

Today, RRCBA is working to mobilize residents, organizations, businesses, churches, and partners around the 16 Community Standards, including education, food access, housing, health, employment, financial empowerment, youth development, neighborhood safety, technology, transportation, arts and culture, and civic engagement.

One major focus is the reimagining of the McDonald Golf Course area into a community-centered district with healthy food access, recreation, small business opportunities, youth programming, parks, gathering spaces, and resources that help families thrive.

Join the movement. Affirm the 16 Community Standards. Help us build a stronger, healthier, safer, and more connected Wichita.
